The rules are still a little hazy, and the plans to get it seem to be somewhere between experiment and superstition: we know for sure that you need to have First Aid already to get the book to drop though you need to actually use it , and we know that it can drop from almost anywhere in the world.
But apparently there are a few places where it drops more often: in Zul'Drak, sometimes in Sholazar Basin, and sometimes in dungeons. Other than that, everything else is just rumors -- I haven't gotten the book yet, and I've been since I had enough Frostweave to level up. I heard it was on the AH for around 20g, but of course that varies by realm, and when I checked today, it wasn't on the AH at all.
And we've also heard that once you learn it, it won't drop for you again, so there may eventually be an AH market for these -- until all potential sellers actually learn the recipe, that is. And then there's this , which just makes my head spin. Got to Mob attacked me. First mob in the zone, and the book dropped. Went to the coords 33, 80 and got it to drop on fifth kill! It dropped in Dragonblight for my friend, and it dropped for me in Sholozar Basin. Just do your thingy, quests etc and it will drop for you. Dropped of first mob. Took my level 73 mage out there and did as some suggested, just tagging the trolls as they came out to fight the Rageclaw fellows. Got my book on the third drop!

My first 2 toons, I farmed the manual in less than 5 kills, with skill My current toon, I've killed 28 mobs so far and still no manual, with skill Only difference I can come to think of, is my current toon is only level 72 and thus too low level for ZD in general.

From the posts at the beginning of this thread I believe one could be forgiven for thinking they should only kill the Daraku Beserkers, this is incorrect, kill all the mobs. Good hunting. Comment by Ethesis The easiest way to get to Rageclaw den is to go up the stairs towards the entrance to the instance as you leave Grizzly Hills, get ganked, and then resurrect at the graveyard, that will walk you right into the flight master next door, get the flight point then just go out the south exit and farm a little. Usually minutes or less until the book drops.
Then you can return to your normal progression. What is really impressive about this particular drop is that you don't have to do much damage at all on the mobs to get the drop unlike some where you have to do half the damage or more, on this set you just have to tag them to be able to loot.
Which is why a level 35 could grind the manual here. It never dropped, so I decided to level it to to see what would happen. It dropped on the first kill after lvl'ing to I don't know if that was just coincidence, but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Comment by Neat little trick with this book If you drag the manual to one of your hotbars and THEN learn it, the manual will be replaced with a spell to create an individual heavy bandage.
While It doesn't have the convenience of being able to just "set it and forget it" to make a stack of 'em, you don't have to open your First Aid crafting pane to make one if you like to make them one at a time.
So, not as practical as it is neat. I tested this by having first aid of and did enough heroics to get the title "the patient" 50 random people and it never dropped. All in all, worth the effort. Had cold weather flying from the book and may hit 70 by the time I finish exploring Northrend. Some helpful comments on here, got mine in rageclaw den, btw, though at first didn't think the guys were gonna help me.

Where do you suggest i grind with a lvl 80 buddy? I decided to kill two mobs that followed me, and the manual dropped. So the manual dropped before I even got to 33, Therefore it might be worth noting that the mobs on the road do drop the manual as well, so one would perhaps save time by killing these if following the same road as I did. Also, I had been saving Frostweave Bandages for this manual through my questing in Northrend, and had cloths when I got this manual.
