What was dances with wolves rated

Should be R. Not for tweens. Amazing best picture classic and is less violent than Braveheart or Gladiator but Many people are shot with guns and bow and arrows. Lots of blood shown for a PG film. Many bloody and disturbing images. Sex There are multiple kissing scenes, including 2 sex scenes in bed no nudity.

Not appropriate for kids. Some nudity. Language Language like son of a b—ch, b— tard, g-dd—n, wh-re, s--t, a-s and many others. About 10 to 15 swears. Good movie but not for tweens. Teen, 14 years old Written by renee. I absolutely loved this movie. I just watched it last week and fell in love with it. I watched it with my 10 year old sister and dad. I think it is suitable for some young ages but they cut watch some scenes where there are gruesome deaths. I recommend this movie!!!

Kid, 12 years old December 10, Sure, I can think of some other movies that top this one in my mind, The Godfather, The Thing but it's still extremely powerful and saddening at the end. So far as content goes, some very mild language, one use of s--t, a few of bitch, next to nothing really. For sex, there is one sex scene in the movie where Dances with Wolves has sex with his wife, and she gets fully nude for this, although it's only seen from her shoulders up.

Lots of action and violence, with quite a bit of blood for a PG, lots of hitting people with bow and arrows, shootings, people get hit on the head with the backs of guns. But this is a truly great movie, definitely a must watch.

Teen, 16 years old Written by Ishmael November 25, I give a lot of hatchet jobs, but this is the worst movie ever. This is the opposite of good role models. Sure it starts out a good movie , boring but tolerable. Then when Dunbar is arrested for treason, a perfectly reasonable charge, his Indian friends come and slaughter every single soldier.

He later remarks "I don't mind killing white men. Teen, 14 years old Written by DonutsforLife July 2, Better than Avatar This movie is very similar to Avatar, but this is so much better. There is lots of violence though for a PG movie. This was a borderline R to me, some parts have made it an R in my book, but not a hard R. There is also some sexual scenes that some kids or parents might want to skip because of how awkward it is.

This movie is long as well, almost 4 hours long 3hrs 56min. Overall, this movie was awesome. I would recommend watching this movie rather than Avatar, it's so much better. Teen, 13 years old Written by Coolpool March 18, One of the best Western-Dramas ever This I encourage you to watch. This has a surprisingly amount of blood for a PG film, but most teens should be able to handle it. It goes to show just how peaceful the Native Americans where, and how stupid the idiots killing them where.

Their is a scene where the main character and peaceful Natives are hunting buffalo, and they pass by a field full of dead buffalo, skinned and left to rot.

Animal lovers may find this disturbing. There is finally the scene where they find the buffalo and hunt them, but make use of all parts of the buffalo, instead of taking the skin and leaving. There is also a sex scene all nudity covered and another, slightly more graphic sex scene after marriage, along with a male's bare butt shown while taking a bath in a lake. Teen, 15 years old Written by biovox14 January 10, Some sexual content, a little violence. So there's brief male rear nudity, some violence, but nothing graphic, and a little language.

All in all its a really good movie, just not for younger kids. Written by Anonymous September 18, Incredible Amazing, beautiful epic is my 1. Kid, 11 years old August 5, The question arises whether Costner surreptitiously intended this film as a very subtle spoof of the modern noble savage drama.

At one point, Dunbar writes in his diary that the Indians are not the thieves and liars that the whites had portrayed them. However, just moments before this absurd monologue, several Sioux have tried to steal his horse and the Pawnee have viciously killed a defenseless, lone, white, mule team driver. Either Costner is self-deluded, or he is mocking the Indians, or he has no idea that all men are sinners who have fallen short of the glory of God and need His saving Grace.

The anachronisms in this film are also perplexing. In the Civil War scenes, everyone uses muzzle-loading rifles: while out West, while the war still rages, Dunbar finds a cache of repeating rifles in the abandoned fort.

Is this a miracle? Or, was Costner too lazy to pay attention to the details of researching his movie? Play trailer Adventure Drama Western. Director Kevin Costner. Michael Blake screenplay by.
